HOW IT WORKS – FAQ’S

Colin Brings the Bakery to You
Planning an event is stressful for the client; so I go to the client for consultations, tastings, design work, etc. If a client can only meet at home at 2:00pm on a Sunday afternoon, then that’s where I’ll go. Choosing a cake is one of the most fun and exciting tasks when planning an event! Clients shouldn’t feel rushed or pressured into making a decision about a cake, so I meet with the client at a time and location that is convenient for them.

Colin Collaborates with the Client
My hope is to spend time with every client to get to know about the important people, moments/memories, events, etc. in a client’s life, and incorporate them into the story that their cake is telling. My number one goal is to create a beautiful and unique work of art that has meaning and depth, making one of the happiest days of the client’s life even more memorable.

Ex. A bride I worked with lost both her mother and grandmother. On her wedding day the bride wore a pearl necklace and bracelet that was her grandmother’s, and then her mother’s. In honor of the two of them, I suggested adding pearl accents/details to the cake. Next, the bride’s favorite memories as a kid were on her grandparent’s citrus farm, so we incorporated citrus branches and flowers on the cake. Lastly, the bride’s fiancé proposed to her in Hawaii, so we used gardenias which are native to Hawaii. 

Colin Creates the Cakes
My art and talent is what the client is paying for! I personally do all the baking and create every single decoration with my own two hands. My recipes and techniques have taken years for me to perfect, so when you hire me, you’re paying for my time and my expertise.

Colin is On-site for your Event
I deliver the cake and will be onsite the day of the event to disassemble the cake, cut the cake and oversee the service of the cake.

Colin’s Pricing
It is virtually impossible to provide clients with a price list, because of the number of options clients have when choosing a cake. The number of servings, frosting/fondant, cake design, fondant/gumpaste decorations, etc. determines the price of each cake. The base price for buttercream-frosted cakes is $7 per person, and $8 per person for fondant-covered cakes, not including decorations. The cost of gumpaste/fondant flowers and other decorations will be discussed on a consultation call or meeting. Prices vary depending on the detail and quantity of the decorations.

COLIN’S MENU
Clients are able to select from a wide variety of cakes and buttercream frostings listed below. I’m also able to create custom cake and buttercream flavors at the client’s request.

Cakes: Vanilla Bean Bourbon, Dark Chocolate Molasses, Coconut Cream, Zesty Lemon Butter, Amaretto Almond, Key Lime, Orange Citrus Blossom, Blood Orange (seasonal), Lavender Flower, Earl Grey & Rose Flower.

Buttercream: Vanilla Bean, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Caramel, Coffee, Coconut, Peanut Butter, Blueberry, Lemon, Raspberry, Strawberry, Almond Butter, & Cardamom.
